Needs you

Needs you is the list of everything waiting on your answer: changes Bidhelm wants your yes on, questions only you can answer, and things that need fixing. It sits at the top of the Overview, and the Ads and Social pages each show the part that belongs to them.

What lands there

  • Changes that ask first. Any kind of change set to Asks first in Settings โ€บ Permissions waits here instead of going live. See Permissions.
  • Decisions Bidhelm brings you. Moves it won't make without you, like changing your monthly budget or turning back on campaigns you paused. A row about spend says what changes, for example "$1,800 a month more, to $9,800", and why.
  • Questions that need typed words, such as where your ads should run. These rows show Review, which opens the question in History so you can write your answer.
  • Ad drafts waiting for review, on the Ads page.
  • Posts waiting for your OK, on the Social page, with Approve all when there are several.
  • Conversations on your social account that need a person: urgent threads, and threads that have waited more than 24 hours. These link to Social โ€บ Conversations.

The Overview also puts a few notes on top of the list, like a connection that stopped working or a report that's ready. They tell you something rather than ask you something.

The headline on the Overview says how many things need you, and under Work in the sidebar, the number beside Ads counts ad drafts waiting for review, and the number beside Social counts posts and conversations waiting on you.

How to answer

  1. Open the Overview, or the Ads or Social page.
  2. Read the row. It names the change, gives the reason, and shows when Bidhelm spotted it.
  3. Pick an answer on the row. The answer Bidhelm recommends is the filled button. If the row shows Review, open it and answer there.
  4. Bidhelm confirms what happened in a short message, and the row leaves the list.

Not sure yet? Select Ask about this to open a chat about that row. Ask why, ask for the numbers, or answer in your own words. When two or more things wait, Work through these in chat takes you through them one at a time.

Some answers lead to a follow-up question. The row stays and shows the next question in place.

When you say no

Declining leaves your account as it is. Bidhelm also stays quiet about the same thing for two weeks, unless the question names a shorter time, like a Not now that asks again next week. Your answer is recorded in History, so you can see later what you turned down and when.

What happens if you don't answer

  • Nothing on the list happens without your yes. A row stays until you answer it, or until Bidhelm closes it because it no longer applies.
  • A post that asks first never goes out unanswered. It moves to the next open slot in your posting plan and keeps waiting. See Ask first for posts.
  • Everything else keeps running. Changes set to Acts on its own carry on while questions wait.
  • The list stays short. Bidhelm keeps only a few questions open at a time. While they wait, it holds back new ones and raises them later if they still matter.

Some rows show an Answer by date. That's when Bidhelm looks at the question again, so answer before then if you want a say.

Common questions

Yes. Anyone in your workspace can answer. The first answer counts, and anyone else who tries sees "Already handled elsewhere".
