How a month is billed
| Part | Starter | Growth | When it's charged |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base fee | $79 a month | $199 a month | At the start of each billing period |
| Share of ad spend | 3% | 3% | After the period closes |
| Add-ons | Per add-on, monthly | Per add-on, monthly | At the start of each billing period |
The 3% is on actual spend, never on your budgets. Spend is read from Google Ads, converted to USD, and counted once the period has closed and the figures have settled, about two days later. So the share for one month lands on a later invoice, normally the next one.
Your first billing period starts the day your trial ends, and each period runs a month from that day. See Your 14-day trial.
Add-ons cost the same on both plans: $60 a month for an extra ad account, $60 for an extra seat, and $49 a month for an extra social account. Current prices are on the Pricing page.
What the Plan & billing page shows
- Your plan. The plan name, its status and the next billing date. When an estimate is available, it shows one for the month, for example "about $1,159/month", split into the plan's base and the 3% share so far.
- What's included. How many accounts, team seats and social profiles you're using against what's included, and how much of the month's work allowance is used.
- Social profiles. Each connected profile and whether your plan covers it. Add or remove extra profiles here.
- Payment. The card on file and your invoices.
Extra seats are added from Settings › Members, and extra ad accounts from Settings › Connections.
Find your invoices
Owners and admins see an Invoices list under Payment, newest first. Each row has the date, the amount and a status:
- Paid: settled.
- Open: issued and not paid yet.
- Void: cancelled, nothing to pay.
Invoices are issued by the payment provider, which handles tax and receipts. The customer portal, opened with Update card, shows live charges and payment details. When the card can't be shown on the page, the row offers Manage subscription instead, which opens the same portal.
Members see the plan but not the card or invoices. See Members and roles.
Change your card
- Open Settings › Plan & billing.
- Under Payment, find your card, shown as its brand and last four digits with the expiry date.
- Select Update card. The customer portal opens in a new tab.
- Change the card there.
If no card is on file, the row says No card on file and the button reads Add a card. Add one before your next bill.
If a payment fails
The plan status changes to Payment failed. The plan is still there, and the provider retries the charge. Update the card in the customer portal so the next try goes through. While a payment is overdue, Bidhelm may hold back automated changes until it's paid.
Change plans
On Settings › Plan & billing, the other plan appears under yours.
- Upgrade to Growth takes effect at once. The part-month is pro-rated.
- Downgrade to Starter is scheduled for the end of the current billing period. If you're using more accounts or seats than Starter includes, Bidhelm shows what would become a paid add-on before you confirm.
Common questions
On what was spent. Your Google Ads spend itself is billed to you by Google, not by Bidhelm.
No. The period you're in runs to its end and isn't refunded. See Cancel or delete your account and the Terms.
