How Bidhelm works

Bidhelm runs the accounts you connect on its own: your Google Ads account, your social account and the landing pages behind your campaigns. It judges every change against the goals you set, writes each one down in History, and asks you first about the kinds of change you've set to ask, and about the few moves it never makes without you, like raising your monthly budget.

What Bidhelm runs

Ads. Bidhelm syncs your campaigns from Google Ads about every 30 minutes and works on them between syncs. The kinds of change it makes are listed under Settings โ€บ Permissions:

  • Start new campaigns, created paused until they're ready
  • Pause keywords that keep spending with nothing to show for it
  • Block searches that won't turn into customers
  • Turn a search that already converts into its own exact keyword
  • Raise bids on what converts and lower them on what doesn't
  • Scale budgets up on proven winners and trim losers
  • Write new headlines and descriptions to test against your ads

Social. On your X profile, Bidhelm writes posts on a posting plan, publishes them in open slots, and replies to people who comment on your posts, mention you or quote you.

Landing pages. Bidhelm builds pages for your campaigns, outside your own site, and counts the leads each one brings. You find them on the Ads page, under Landing pages.

How it decides

Everything Bidhelm does is measured against two things you give it during setup:

  • Your goals. For ads: more leads, more revenue, a lower cost per lead, or getting seen at the top of search. For social: sending people to your site, growing your audience, getting seen, or starting conversations. See Set up your workspace.
  • Your budget. A daily amount, shown as a monthly total. Bidhelm works inside it.

What Bidhelm knows about your business lives in Memory: the facts it works from, the rules you give it, and what it has found works. It follows Memory in every change, post and reply. You can edit any of it. See Memory and Instructions.

What it does on its own, and what it asks first

Each kind of change is set to Acts on its own or Asks first in Settings โ€บ Permissions. Out of the box, almost every kind acts on its own. New ad copy is the exception: Bidhelm asks you about its first drafts, then acts on its own once you approve one, or after 48 hours with no answer. Switch any kind to Asks first and Bidhelm holds that kind of change until you say yes. A rule in Memory can also hold a specific change, like any post that mentions a price.

Only owners and admins can change Permissions. See Permissions.

Where you see what it did

  • Overview. The first page you see. Its Needs you list holds everything waiting on your answer, like a change set to ask first, and anything that needs fixing, like a connection that stopped working. When nothing waits, it says you're all caught up. See Needs you.
  • History. Every change to your accounts, who made it, and what came of it. Changes made in the dashboard or through your agent are there too. See History.
  • Results. Your reports. The first one runs when you finish setup. After that, a weekly report arrives every Monday at 08:00 UTC, covering the week that just ended. See Your first report.

Ask Bidhelm anything

The box on the Overview, Ask Bidhelm, or change direction, opens a chat with Bidhelm. Ask why it made a change, what it would do next, or tell it to do something. Past conversations are under Chats in the menu that opens from your workspace name in the sidebar.

You can also run Bidhelm from your own AI agent. See Connect your AI agent.

Common questions

No. Bidhelm reads your account once it's connected, but it starts making changes only once checkout is done and your plan is in place.
