Every tool that works inside a workspace takes an optional workspace. Leave it out and the agent uses your default workspace. list_workspaces shows the ones your login belongs to.
Direct changes and asking Bidhelm
A direct tool, like set_budgets or manage_post, is your own change. It runs through the same checks as the button in the dashboard and is recorded in History as made by You, marked via your agent.
Two tools hand the work to Bidhelm instead:
ask_questionasks about results, campaigns or anything in the account. It writes a chat you can open in the dashboard and never changes your account.request_actionasks Bidhelm to make a change that needs its judgement, such as "pause any campaign that spent over $200 this week without a trial". When a decision needs you, it comes back to your agent to put to you.
A long answer can come back as still running. Your agent reads it a moment later with ask_question and the chat's id.
Changes that need confirmation
Some changes can't be undone. The tool refuses them until your agent calls it again with confirm: true, and your agent is told to ask you first:
- Removing keywords or negative keywords with
remove_keywords - Deleting a standing instruction with
manage_instructions - Retiring a social rule with
update_memory - Deleting a published post from X with
manage_post - Deleting a reply your profile sent, or erasing what a person wrote, with
moderate_inbox - Reverting a budget change a task made with
manage_task
Other tools tell your agent to get your yes before calling them, because they spend money or publish under your name: approving an ad draft, approving posts, sending an inbox reply, raising the monthly budget, switching a permission to act on its own, and answering a decision that spends money.
Guardrails on budgets and bids
set_budgets sends nothing when a new budget is more than five times the current one, when a budget is shared with other campaigns, when the month would end more than 10% over your monthly plan, or when a raise has no monthly plan to check it against. set_keyword_bids skips keywords in campaigns where Google sets the bids, skips keywords without a bid of their own when the change is a percent, and sends nothing when a new bid is more than five times the current one. Each skipped item comes back with the reason.
Owner or admin only
Your agent can do what your role allows. These need an owner or admin of the workspace, just as they do in the dashboard:
- Changing Permissions with

update_social_settingsandmanage_social_profile - Approving, editing or deleting posts with
manage_post - Replying in the inbox and moderating it

In the dashboard only
These have no tool. Your agent will send you to the dashboard for them:
- Payments, your Bidhelm subscription, invoices and cancelling
- Members, invites and roles, and add-ons
- Connecting or disconnecting accounts, choosing the primary account, and syncing a social profile
- Uploading, deleting or describing images
- Sharing a report
- The workspace's address and logo, and switching workspaces
- Pinning, renaming or archiving chats, and marking chats or History read
- Accepting an invite and finishing setup
